Private Lessons
Private lessons are offered at the Barking Tree Pottery studio in  2-3 hour sessions. Receive hands-on one-on-one instruction in throwing and creating the kinds of work that you are specifically interested in.

CHILDREN'S POTTERY CLASSES
In association with Art Partners Studio, Susan offers pottery classes for children in Barking Tree Pottery studio. Kids from 6 to 8 and 9 to 12 experience the process of creating  their own unique works of art from clay.  They learn the basics of hand-building and glazing.  Susan fires the children's work in her kilin on-site  so they kids come home with beautiful finished pottery they made themselves.

Clay Adventures (Ages 6-8)
Explore the world of hand-building with clay—coiling pinching, and slabs. Paint your pieces with colorful slips and imprint the surface with stamps and other molds for texture. Class limit: 8.

Susan teaches throwing classes at Chester Springs Studio at Historic Yellow Springs.

All About the Wheel
Level: All levels, Limit 10 students
Tuesdays 9:30AM to 12:30PM
ACT 48 CREDITS

This 8-week class, All About the Wheel, will introduce basic to advanced wheel-throwing techniques. Beginners will start with centering the clay, and throwing cylinders and bowls. Returning students will continue to refine their personal style, learn advanced techniques and focus on individual projects. Glaze application and decoration will be explored as a group. Come on out and enjoy a wonderful environment and explore your creative side. Projects for advanced students include lidded jars and teapots.

The Potter’s Wheel
Level: All levels, Limit 10 students
Wednesdays 6:30PM to 9:30PM

Come on out and enjoy a wonderful environment and explore your creative side. This Winter we will be focusing on making functional pots for specific foods and events.
